Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

OpportunityHub helps students and farmers in India find government scholarships, schemes and career guidance. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account details: your name, mobile number and email address.
Password: stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so nobody, including us, can read it. Accounts created with Google have no password.
Profile details you choose to enter: home state, college state, age, gender, education level, marks, stream, family income, social category and disability status, plus the schemes you save or track. These are optional and are used only to match you with opportunities.
Verification codes: one-time codes sent to your email are stored in hashed form and expire in 5 minutes.
Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse (for example, too many code requests). Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.

2. Sign in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your name and email address (and confirms the email is verified). We use these only to create your account or log you in. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data. Our use of information received from Google is limited to providing this sign-in.

3. How we use your information

To create your account and log you in.
To verify your email and to let you reset your password.
To show scholarships, schemes and career guidance that match your profile.
To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information and we do not show advertising. We share data only with service providers needed to run the site (web hosting, database, and email delivery for verification codes), or when the law requires it. These providers may process data only to deliver their service to us.

5. Storage and security

Your data is stored in a database on our hosting provider. Passwords and verification codes are hashed. After login, your browser keeps a session token in local storage so you stay logged in; logging out removes it. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Your choices

You can leave optional profile fields empty or edit them at any time.
You can ask us to correct or delete your account and data by emailing zalteom111@gmail.com. We will act on verified requests within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

7. Children

OpportunityHub is meant for students and farmers. If you are under 18, please use it with the help of a parent or guardian.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
